SIICUSP 31st Every year we have the International Symposion of Scientific Iniciation at USP, where undergrads involved in research project can show their results. In this year edition we had two members of the group presenting their research: Arthur e Beatriz.

Bioinformatics Workshop 2023 - USP XIV Simpósio dos Pós-Graduandos no CENA/USP The “XXII Bioinformatics Post-Graduate Workshop IME/USP” took place between October 19th to 20th in São Paulo capital city. Arthur Shuzo Owtake Cardo, undegrad in our group, participated and won the Fist Place as Best Poster Award - Session 01, with his poster: Standardization of Plant Comparative Transcriptomics Analyses Using Experimental Metadata and Ontology Terms.

XIV Simpósio dos Pós-Graduandos no CENA/USP The “XIV Simpósio dos Pós-Graduandos no CENA/USP” took place between setember 21st to 22nd in our campus. Three members of the lab made poster presentations:

During the last year we have the defense of two students in their master’s working with genomics of sugarcane.

Durign the last few months several members of LabBCES have participated of Conferences and other events sharing their research results. ISMB2022 ISMB is the largest conference on Bioinformatics, this year the group participated remotely, with some posters.

BSB2021 Felipe V. Peres, one of our undergrad students, participated in the Brazilian Symposium on Bioinformatics, where he presented a simple tool he developed to remove contaminating reads from NGS datasets

In a collaboration with the group of Dr. Howard Junca, lead by postdoc Erika Garcia-Bonilla we described the viral community in the sponge Haliclona fulva.
